La Vallée du Loir à Vélo

From La Flèche, cycle along the Loir valley to Angers, crossing the low-lying valleys of Angers, irrigated by the calm waters of the Sarthe, Mayenne and Maine rivers.

The Vallée du Loir à vélo begins its route in the Eure-et-Loir, from its source, and reaches the capital of Anjou. After the village of Les Rairies and its brick-making tradition, Durtal and the ancient fortress of the kings of France, the Angevine stage in the Loir valley continues along small country roads, sometimes overlooking the river, sometimes following the course of the water, dams and mills. Swimming is not out of the question, as the banks of the Anjou valleys are dotted with guinguettes, ferries and water sports.

The Rochefoulque ferry crossing of the Loir has been open since 9 April 2026.
