Domaine des Raynières

A 32-hectare family estate in Varrains, in the heart of the Saumur-Champigny vineyards, Domaine des Raynières is now run by Sylvain Rebeilleau, who joined the family in 2006 and represents the 6th generation of winegrowers.

The Domaine des Raynières, now run by Sylvain Rebeilleau, dates back to 1840.

The vineyard is planted with Chenin for the whites and Cabernet Franc for the reds. The vines are cultivated using sustainable methods and are all grassed. Vinification takes place in an air-conditioned cellar with temperature-controlled stainless steel vats.

The 32-hectare vineyard consists mainly of clay-limestone soil. It is planted with Chenin for the whites (Saumur Blanc and Saumur Mousseux) and Cabernet for the reds (Saumur-Champigny and Saumur rouge).

The tuffeau (limestone subsoil) gives the region's wines a special character, as it absorbs excess water during the winter and releases it during periods of drought. As a result, the vines are subjected to very little stress, producing full-bodied, supple wines.
