European Heritage Days at the Château de la Tourlandry!
Revitalising built heritage: a visual history To mark the 2026 European Heritage Days, the Château de La Tourlandry invites visitors to explore the estate through the lens of time, imagery and transformation.
Echoing the national themes ‘Photographic Heritage’ and ‘Heritage at Risk: Revitalise, Resist, Reimagine’, this year’s event will highlight the evolution of the château, its buildings and its gardens since the site was taken over in 2016.
With guided tours and talks inside the château, a temporary photographic exhibition, an outdoor screening and a self-guided walk through the park and gardens, visitors will be invited to reflect on how far the site has come, to understand the restoration work currently underway and to take a fresh look at a living heritage that is still evolving. This programme will link the scientific, technical and decorative history of the 19th century to the heritage revival that has been underway at the Château de La Tourlandry for the past 10 years!
