ANJOU'R & NUIT - DÉCOUVERTE GOURMANDE D’AUTOMNE ENTRE METS ET VINS

The Domaine de Pied Flond welcomes you for a gourmet discovery. Aims of the workshop: Discover the wines of Maine-et-Loire and their specific characteristics, learn how to match local wines with seasonal dishes, experiment with original combinations around autumn.

The aim of this workshop is to raise awareness of the rich wine-growing potential of Maine-et-Loire, the emblematic region of the Loire Valley. Through a representative selection, participants will discover the diversity of local appellations (Anjou, Saumur, Coteaux du Layon, etc.), flagship grape varieties such as Chenin, Cabernet Franc or Grolleau, and the particularities of winemaking in this region (still, sweet, sparkling, rosé wines, etc.).
Autumn, with its bounty of gourmet produce (squash, mushrooms, game, apples, pears, walnuts, etc.), is an ideal time for food and wine pairing. The workshop will provide simple guidelines for associating the characteristics of a wine with the texture, aromatic power or dominant flavour of a dish. Through guided tastings, participants will learn how to combine flavours in a balanced and complementary way.
As well as classic pairings, this workshop is also designed to be a space for creativity and sensory discovery. More daring combinations will be suggested.
