The Anjou Wine Festival returns to Chalonnes-sur-Loire on 17 and 18 May 2025!
Since 1964, the Union de Producteurs de Grands Vins " Loire Layon Aubance " (U.P.G.V), all its volunteers and partners, have been helping you to discover the great diversity of wines from the Anjou - Saumur vineyards, and even beyond with some of the Loire Valley appellations.
For two days, in Chalonnes sur Loire, the 64th Anjou-Saumur Wine Festival will offer you a range of traditional, cultural and culinary festivities, in the privileged natural setting of the quays along the Loire.
AOC Anjou red....
After highlighting the region's rosés and sweet and dry white wines in previous years, the red "Anjou" Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) will be in the spotlight, with grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pineau d'Aunis and Grolleau.
The AOC "Anjou rouge" offers fruity, easy-drinking wines with discreet tannins to be enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere. They appeal as much for their assertive character as for their finesse and silky tannins.
Not just wines....!
As always, from Saturday morning until Sunday evening, you'll have the opportunity to taste the wines of the year and previous vintages in the Winegrowers' Village.
You'll also be able to learn more about wines and their secrets during a wine tasting session for all, whether you're a wine lover or not.
What's more, you'll be able to take advantage of the many local products on offer, as well as enjoying a range of gastronomic specialities in a friendly, musical atmosphere.
During the 2 days of this event, groups of musicians will criss-cross the quays and carry you away with their traditional and contemporary songs.
This year, a guinguette evening will be organised, the ideal opportunity to share a warm moment with family or friends. To take part in this festive evening, you'll need to book your meal in advance. You'll be treated to mouth-watering dishes, accompanied by lively music for an unforgettable evening.
On Sunday morning, it's time for the wine trail, a great opportunity to discover the Loire countryside while meeting local producers. Organised by the Union des Producteurs de Grands Vins (UPGV), the walk will take place on Sunday 18 May 2025, with a free start between 7.30am and 10am from the Quai Gambetta in Chalonnes-sur-Loire. Whether you're a wine lover, a nature enthusiast or simply curious, this morning promises to be full of discoveries and sharing.
As you'll see, everything's been done to ensure you have a great time with family and friends, enjoying the wines of Anjou-Saumur and the Loire.
All our volunteers and exhibitors will be delighted to welcome you to the 64th Anjou-Saumur Wine Festival.
