44ème Fêtes des Fleurs

Millions of paper flowers are needed. Some designers use up to 50 shades of colour!
Preparations are well underway for the 44th Fête des Fleurs! On 24 and 25 May 2026, St Macaire en Mauges will come alive to the rhythm of brass bands, smiles and petals.

Once again this year, 9 floats will compete in creativity and colour to offer the public an unforgettable spectacle. The two days will be punctuated by the traditional parade of musical groups. During this festive weekend, take advantage of the on-site food stalls, stroll around the designer market and the funfair.

Every day from 3pm, watch the parade of colourful flower floats, sure to impress. Various groups of musicians will be performing their music in the church square from 10.30am. All weekend long, designer market. Catering on site, funfair. Free admission. A festive and friendly event not to be missed!

Since 1931, the people of Macairo have been working hard to bring the flower festival to life every two years. Initially, the Comité de bienfaisance, now the Comité des fêtes, planned a parade of bicycles and cars decorated with flowers. Over the years, the event has grown in scope, with the aim of harmonising the theme of the float, the dances and the harmony. Construction techniques evolved from wooden structures to the use of metal beams and round iron.
