On the Routes des Vins, this 57km wine tour by car takes you from river to vineyard. And it's in these vineyards that a variety of AOC wines come to life each year: red, rosé, white, fine bubbles, mellow... Welcome to the Aubance vineyards!
From Angers, the start and finish point of this circular route, head towards Brissac. But first, don’t miss a visit to Angers Castle. Once you’re on your way towards the Aubance vineyards, you can discover the wines along the footpaths winding through the vines. Along the Wine Routes, stop off at the wine estates: the winegrowers will give you a warm welcome!
Continue on your way – the tallest château in France awaits you in Brissac-Quincé, with its 7 storeys and 204 rooms… That’s quite something! You can also explore its stunning landscaped grounds via the five themed walks on offer. At the end of your visit, you can enjoy a wine tasting. Châteaux, grounds, wine tasting: the good life!
In Saint-Mathurin, pop into Loire Odyssée. A fun family-friendly visit to learn all about the Loire. If you’d rather explore it from the water, the sightseeing boats offer aperitif cruises, where you can nibble on tapas, a drink in hand, whilst enjoying views of Europe’s last wild river!
On the way back, follow the Route de la Grande Levée along the banks of the Loire and stop for a while on a bench by the river to soak up the moment. Keep your eyes peeled – lots of herons have made their home here!
