L'Hyrôme et ses anciens moulins

A walking trail between heritage and nature, in the heart of the picturesque Hyrôme valley.

Follow the winding course of the Hyrôme and let yourself be charmed by this steep-sided valley, with its picturesque green landscape. All along the trail, traces of the valley's industrial and craft past can be seen: stone walls, old wheels, bridges... all remnants of the many mills that once animated the valley. No fewer than 29 of them harnessed the power of water, bearing witness to the know-how and ingenuity of the people of the past.

Today, this walk invites you to step back in time while enjoying a preserved natural environment. The Hyrôme, a veritable ecological corridor, is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna. Between wet meadows and shady undergrowth, the landscapes follow one another, offering a haven of peace for walkers and nature lovers alike.

Between Chemillé and Chanzeaux, this walk combines heritage, nature and serenity. It's a wonderful escape to the heart of the Mauges, to discover a little-known heritage and a valley shaped by water.
