Dominated by its Romanesque church, a former Benedictine priory, the village of Cunault was a place of pilgrimage and fairs of great renown in the Middle Ages and, until the end of the 19th century, a major port on the Loire specialising in the shipment of tufa stone.

This 7.8km trail explores the built and natural heritage of the village of Cunault. Dominated by its Romanesque church, Cunault was a place of pilgrimage and fairs of great renown in the Middle Ages. Until the end of the 19th century, it was also an important port on the Loire, specialising in the shipping of tufa stone. There is a steep gradient at the start, before the route continues on flat, shady paths through the forest.
