Chenillé-Changé is a charming village typical of the blue Anjou region, nestling on a hillside on the banks of the Mayenne. Slate blends naturally with plants and the river to delight visitors.
Situated on the banks of the Mayenne, Chenillé-Champteussé offers a landscape that is emblematic of the valley, particularly visible from the right bank, near the lock-keeper's house. From this vantage point, the village is revealed in a picturesque setting, between the river and its built heritage.
The tour continues through the narrow streets of the village, where you can see the Bouin mill, an authentic water mill, and the church of Saint-Pierre, built in the 11th century and then altered in the 17th century.
The village is also a departure point for river cruises on the Mayenne, notably aboard the Hirondelle pleasure boat, or for houseboat hire with Les Canalous.
Since 2016, the communes of Chenillé-Changé and Champteussé-sur-Baconne have been grouped together to form the new commune of Chenillé-Champteussé.
