For two centuries, in the heart of the Loire Valley and Anjou, the Cadre Noir has embodied and brought to life the excellence of traditional French horsemanship, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Heir to a prestigious military past and drawing on an ancestral equestrian culture, the Cadre Noir perpetuates its training mission, organises and takes part in competitions up to international level and contributes to the research effort. It promotes and disseminates traditional French equestrianism, which is listed by UNESCO as an intangible world heritage site, by offering a programme of visits, Matinales and Galas in Saumur, as well as in France and abroad.
