DOMAINE MOULIN TURQUAIS
The origins of the property date back to the 18th century. There were two mills on the site, one known as the moulin-tour and the other as the moulin-cavier, both used for milling. This family estate has been passed down through the generations. Gradually, the vines became an important part of the estate. Since 1945, direct sales have grown steadily.
Our vineyard covers 38 hectares. It overlooks the commune of Martigné-Briand, and borders the Layon river just a stone's throw away.
The vineyard, which has an average age of 20 to 30 years, is planted mainly on clay-limestone soils and is made up of Chenin, Cabernet-franc and Cabernet-sauvignon grape varieties, as well as Grolleau and Sauvignon blanc.
The climate, tempered by the influence of the Loire Valley, and the micro-climate of the Coteaux du Layon, give the estate an invaluable advantage in making the most of the diversity of its grape varieties and terroirs.
We welcome visitors from Monday to Saturday, depending on our availability and the constraints of our winegrowing business. Please make sure we are there before you visit.
