La Seignère lies at the foot of the hillside, in the heart of the Saumur-Champigny vineyards and on the banks of the Loire. It's an exceptional location for sightseeing, walking through the vineyards or cycling along the Loire.
La Seignère is a 19th-century mansion that until the end of the 20th century was home to a vineyard producing a Saumur-Champigny called "Clos de la Seignère". Since then, the vines have been sold to other growers in the region and the house has become a peaceful residence set in parkland.
Built of freestone, the manor-style house is rectangular, with two slight symmetrical projections between which is an old glass roof.
As soon as you enter "La Seignère", you'll feel like you're in your own guest house, a grand 19th-century residence with all the period features.
The entrance leads to the lounges and verandas, where you can take a break to cool off, relax or read.
To reach your bedroom, you have to climb a winding period staircase, a real museum piece.
On the landing, upstairs, you'll find the vast family suite "Le Parc". Go up again and you'll find other large, beautiful bedrooms: the family suite "Le Coteau", the bedroom "La Catalpa" with a view of the park, and the bedroom "Les Vignes" with a view of the vineyards.
In the morning, a continental breakfast featuring fresh, organic and homemade produce is served in one of the two verandas.
Weather permitting, enjoy the heated outdoor swimming pool, with towels available on request.
