4 kilometres from Saumur town centre, in the heart of 3 hectares of lush parkland, La Croix de la Voulte guest house opens its doors to you from May to October for a timeless stay!
The owners, Helga and Jean-Pierre Minder, will be delighted to welcome you to their elegant 15th-century royal hunting lodge, with its four cosy and comfortable bedrooms, renovated in keeping with tradition and retaining the charm of yesteryear: "Touraine", "Anjou" (both with huge 15th-century fireplaces), "Périgord" or "Bourgogne": which will you choose for your next stopover?
Worth knowing: La Croix de la Voulte is a very old royal hunting lodge, built from the 15th to the end of the 17th century. The hunting party of the Kings of France used to meet here before turning back: "faire voulte" in old French.
The property is made up of several dwellings built of white Loire stone (tuffeau). Breakfast is served in the bright veranda by the pool. A great start to the day!
Relax and read in your room, in the park or by the pool... cycle around the area (La Loire à Vélo, la Vélobuissonnière, l'Authion à vélo), visit museums, châteaux, troglodyte caves, the Loire is just a stone's throw away for traditional boat or canoe trips, restaurants and guinguettes... The owners will be delighted to advise you on the many activities on offer and their personal favourites.
Enjoy your stay in the Loire Valley!
