"Couette et Café": two elegant guest rooms in a 19th-century tufa house with garden, in the centre of Saumur in a quiet area 650 m from Place Bilange, between the Loire and Thouet rivers.
Each of the two bedrooms has its own private bathroom and separate WC. The "Loire" room has a 160cm bed. From its window, you can see the church of Nantilly. The "Vignes" room also has a 160cm bed, but can be split into 2 twin beds on request. From its window, you can see the Château de Saumur.
Breakfast is served in a veranda overlooking the terrace and garden. The two bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor, reserved for guests and accessible by a wide oak staircase.
Bicycles can be parked in the entrance porch.
There is free parking on the street and in neighbouring streets, and your hosts Isabelle and Rémi can open their garage to you on request.
All the restaurants in the centre of Saumur are less than 10 minutes' walk away.
The house is located in the town centre, in the Nantilly district, a quiet area close to the Square de Verdun. Saumur is a town with many tourist attractions: its historic centre, full of remarkable buildings including the Château, which is less than 10 minutes' walk away; the Cadre Noir and its public performances (matinees, galas); cruises on the Loire; hiking (GR3 and numerous PR trails); the Loire à Vélo and the Thouet by bike; the Armoured Corps Museum; the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud and also the Châteaux of Brézé and Montreuil Bellay are around 15 minutes from the house.
