Following in the footsteps of the Perreyeux family, take the Chemin Bleu to Combrée and explore the mining heritage and landscapes near the Misengrain valley.
Meet at the Bel-Air reception area, at the entrance to the majestic Ombrée forest, classified as a Sensitive Natural Area.
This is also the starting point for the interpretation trail "In the footsteps of the masked miner", as well as the forest orientation courses.
Between the trees, you'll see the old mining town in the forest, as well as the old railway line that linked the Misengrain slate quarries to Bel-Air. You'll also come across the Landes pond, created by the waste from the Bel-Air slate mine.
This 13-kilometre walk alternates between forest, pasture, crops and wetlands. The sunken paths, similar to those found in Mayenne, are lined with tall trees that form a well-built roof at the top, guaranteeing shade and coolness for most of the route.
Go for it!
