Inspired by the famous nursery rhyme, Bertrand Donnot sculpts the green mouse in a block of green Italian marble. It is an illustration of the novel he wrote L'extraordinaire quête du Bailli de la Brelaire.
Introduction to the artist and his approach:
Bertrand Donnot was born in Vieillevigne in Loire-Inférieure (later Loire-Atlantique) in 1949. He arrived in Montjean-sur-Loire by barge on the Loire over 25 years ago, to sculpt the limestone of Châteaupanne. Since moving to the town, he has been a regular participant in the monumental sculpture symposium. As a result, the streets of Montjean-sur-Loire have been adorned with numerous sculptures by the artist, who has held numerous exhibitions, collaborations and artistic projects in the area.

THE GREEN MOUSE (green marble from Italy) Bertrand Donnot took inspiration in the very well-known rhyme, and carved the mouse in a green marble stone from Italy. The carving is an illustration of his novel, "The Brelaire Bailiff's extraordinary quest".
