The Communauté de communes Anjou Loir et Sarthe (CCALS) has 2 stopping places on the Sarthe: Cheffes and Morannes.
The CCALS has developed a second river stopover in the Morannes-Sur-Sarthe-Daumeray commune by installing 12 new pontoons in June 2020. These pontoons are rented on a year-round basis, and one pontoon allows passing boats to moor during a stopover. A waiting list has had to be created.
Extension of the rest stop:
The community's elected representatives also wanted to continue developing river tourism on the Sarthe by voting to create a second phase of pontoons at Morannes sur Sarthe.
Since summer 2022, 12 boats have been able to berth on these new pontoons, which are equipped with water and electricity. The pontoons are allocated by signing an Autorisation d'Occupation Temporaire (AOT). A stopover pontoon is also available for boaters wishing to park for a few days to discover Morannes and the surrounding area (free of charge for a maximum of 72 hours).
