Castle life on the Champtoceaux promontory overlooking the Loire!
Immersed in nature, on the heights of Champtoceaux, Château de la Colinière towers 70 metres above the Loire.
Once a hunting lodge built by the Princes of Condé in the 17th century, the château stands at the heart of an ancient medieval town, Châteauceaux, where princes, dukes and kings fought for this stronghold on the banks of the Loire between Angers and Nantes.
Since the destruction of the citadel in 1420, the ruins have given way to the citadel and the château grounds have become a sanctuary for an abundance of flora and fauna (over 517 species recorded), which Christine and Hervé will be delighted to tell you about during your stay.
The château has 2 bedrooms:
- one overlooking the verdant park, the VALLOTTON room
- the TURNER room, overlooking the majestic Loire.
Each of the 2 rooms has twin beds and a private bathroom and toilet.
The hosts are passionate about art and the history of the area, as well as its flora and fauna, and will be delighted to share this discreet nugget in the hills above Champtoceaux with you.
The light over the park and the Loire offers majestic spectacles every day at sunrise and sunset.
