Gite d'étape troglodytique de Saint-Pierre-en-Vaux

Troglodyte gîte in the south of Saumur, open since 1983. Welcomes individuals or groups of up to 21 people. Family reunions, associations, school trips... but also a stopover for individuals and groups in Gennes-Val-de-Loire.

Madame Hamard, the owner of the Saint-Pierre-en-Vaux troglodyte gîte, warmly welcomes you for an unusual and successful stay in the Anjou countryside, between Angers and Saumur!
You can rent the whole property, with a large underground room on one side and a 3-storey house on the other, set around an independent courtyard. The gîte is suitable for groups of around twenty people. The troglodyte common room is furnished with benches, tables and chairs and has a kitchen area and crockery.

An additional room with a bread oven completes the underground section: the oven is lit for tourist events, on request. Ask the owner about the details of these "fouées" events. Nature" courses are also organised here...
There are garden tables and a barbecue in the courtyard, and a bathroom with baby facilities is also available. The house, which backs onto the rock, has 2 dormitories, 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, for a total of 23 beds.

There are plenty of activities available from the gîte: ideal for exploring the surrounding hiking trails (including the 14.8 km hike in the commune), cycling circuits (the southern Saumur loop "Entre Loire et Falun", connected to La Loire à Vélo), horse-riding, donkey trekking... and discovering the region's rich heritage, both on... and underground!
