22nd edition of Terres Créatives: ‘Potters’ Market’
For the past 22 years, at the end of summer, the Rablay-sur-Layon Artists’ Village has been a magnet for lovers of contemporary ceramics. For a whole weekend, the village square is transformed into a veritable journey of discovery where clay takes on all manner of forms: thrown, moulded, sculpted, glazed…
34 ceramicists, from all over France, showcase their work: tableware, everyday objects, sculptures and contemporary creations. As they wander amongst the stalls, visitors take the time to chat with the artists, discover their craftsmanship and, why not, leave with a piece that has caught their eye!
This year, Atelier Klemans is the guest of honour. A ceramicist and sculptor, he shapes stoneware by turning the potter’s wheel into a language in its own right, where gesture and material engage in a dialogue within each creation.
Demonstrations, meet-and-greets and the chance to discover a wide variety of styles make Terres Créatives an unmissable event, both for collectors and for those simply looking for a lovely summer outing.
The full list of ceramicists can be found on the Village d’Artistes website.
On the programme:
• meet-and-greets and discussions with the ceramicists,
• clay workshop for all ages,
• wooden games,
• People’s Choice Award, with the chance to win a piece by a ceramicist.
• Food and drink available on site
